The search for a venue

Well now I've had a chance to get everything sorted; i.e. my new uni house that I am now living in for the time being and getting settled into university I can now start to focus on the search for a venue. I would like the gig to take place in Southampton since it is where the Piam Brown Ward at the General hospital is situated and that would make things a little bit easier on my part knowing all the great venues. 


The top two venues on my list so far are The Brooke and The Joiners; The Brooke is a nice family friendly venue with reliable friendly staff and a nice homely atmosphere. The Joiners is the very venue that sticks in my heart as being on of the best; it always gives off a great atmosphere and it appeals to all ages. I plan to start asking all the venues and also get help doing it; planning an event is not a one person job. Anyone living in the Southampton area or any promoter who has experience in the field your help will be much appreciated. Thank you again and see you soon.

A plan

Being that I am getting more into the music industry behind the scenes and I would like to get a bit more experience as a promoter I have decided to start this blog too. I have recently become a part of Jackhammer Promotions; helping the manager find a venue for the Rocket Dolls Southampton date.

I also have a plan of my own; I would like to put on a charity gig where the money will go towards the Piam Brown Ward at Southampton General Hospital. It's a children's cancer ward; my cousin, Bart,  was looked after in the same ward when he contracted leaukemia. So I would love to give something to the ward that made sure Bart had a safe and full recovery; so far I am looking for a venue and deciding a date. I have in mind what bands I would like to ask; but all in good time, if you have any ideas or anything like that you wish to share send me a message.
